Experience of our Village Visit
                                                               Yasaswini

Introduction:-
We visited a small beautiful village called MUNGADIH
Its location:-
Village name: MUNGADIH
 Block name: ANGADA
District: Ranchi
State: Jharkhand
Our journey started:-
On 16th morning from our university in RKMVU bus, at 9:30am. We came across lot of beautiful fields, dams, science centre, and small chowks and reached Angada block.
At 11:30 we stopped in Jhona market and brought some cooking ingredients and had small breakfast and started to village.
This village is surrounded by different villages like NAVADIA, DIMBRA and also jungles, forest area, etc.
We reached there before 12:30 and started our survey.
1st day we roamed total village and made village profile and we have drawn village map.
We stayed in small guest house like home which is constructed by DKVK; named as “Samudayik BHAVAN”.
We have seen lotus pond, a very pleasant sceneries, 4 to 5 ponds, wells, Bore wells, Bamboo trees, Sakuva trees, lac producing trees, Jack fruit trees, etc… many more types of trees are found there.
Their agriculture mostly depend on paddy, maize, vegetables like tomato, brinjal etc…, leafy vegetables like palak, spinach etc.
Their agricultural land also mostly derived from forest land only.
We went to houses and have done survey about their livelihood, life and occupation.
Their main occupation is Agriculture. They sell the remaining crop, plants by near market Jhona.
A very adventurous experience, we felt on knowing about the Demon stories, Evil things that happened there.
Their customs are very similar to this state people; they celebrate all kinds of festival.
·        Bedhiya is dominating community in that village.
·        Their language is PANCH PARGANIYA.
·        MUNGADIH the word means Jungle pig or wild pig which is vey lucky and sacred to them.
·        On a very good occasion, they prefer to eat that pig.
·        Their village goddess name is- Thejuva maa.
·        They have a school run by government.
·        Their village panchayat is held at Tuta.
·         Shiv mandir or Lord Shiva’s temple is very famous and is the only temple to them.
·        The village people are very innocent, very good and all of them have a great unity and help each others.
·        On 17th we have seen their festival celebration of Sarna Puja.
On that day, they celebrate it very traditionally and as main important thing they drink HADIYA- A drink which is made from rice.
We enjoyed their hosting qualities, ways and their treating.
Now the development has just begun there and they need good communication facilities, good schooling to their children, saving abilities, earning tips, they should have awareness in their development.
One more surprising and Adventure is that our classmates went for searching the devil.
They found the story of a Tamarind tree which is located near the house where we used to stay.
The villagers helped lot in cooking also.
We enjoyed much and more and on 18th we started again from the village and on the way we went to Jhona falls and enjoyed a lot.
We returned our university……really we had a very different experience staying with them.
